Harold Ford destroys Whora on MSNBC
Damn that was good. I disagree with him re the apology but he said he took Kerry at his word on what he meant.
Nora asked him if he would return money from Kerry. He said Denny took money from a sexual predator but is in Tennessee campaigning for his opponent.

2. I thought it was
important to see Harold Ford expressing his opinion, rather than having others on tv -- be they republicans or talking heads -- translate it.

9. Yep. I admit it - Norah is physically babe-licious.

Maybe there's hope. I went thru a similar conflict with Arianna when she was a RW shill. Now that
she's come over from the dark side, I don't feel so bad about lusting after her. Maybe it will happen with
Norah.

18. I've been partial to Lara Logan myself
That's about the only reason I even passively pay attention to CBS News since Katie came on board. I still don't know about Norah (aside from her pleasing appearance), she still is way to eager to give RW talking points airtime rather than examine any substantive issues.

She slathers the make-up on with a trowel.
She probably spends more on make-up and beauty shops than a minimum wage worker earns full time.

Beauty is only skin deep ... but ugly goes clear to the bone.

She's ugly.
She's corrupt.
She's dishonest.

She's awful. It's just somehow easier--less jarring maybe--to hear hateful things come out of the mouth of someone who looks like Bill O'Reilly. Maybe I'm a lookist. Sorry. :eyes:

And how was Ford make out Nora's question anyway? I mean, what with her lips being planted firmly on Rover's right asscheek, well, all the time, one can only imagine it was a bit garbled...

10. Only if you heard it through some hate-radio translation or
something. That certainly wasn't what I heard at all! He answered Nora's question about giving back the money from Kerry's PAC (as Corker's demanding) with a firm, "No." Then he moved right into the Republican Leader Denny Hastert who protected a child molester campaigning for Corker a few days ago. For Corker, Mum's the word when it comes to Republicans who protect child predators.

I was critical of Ford when he came out with his 'Kerry should apologize' statement, but I'm taking it back. He handled that skillfully and in the end, it got him free press (which was the goal). He really is running an excellent campaign!

14. Spreading the Harold Hate.....
all over the board today, are we?. You must live in a solidly blue state or would just rather keep your highly placed principles in place to keep the process pure. In either case, I'm pretty sure you don't live in Tn.

15. Ford didn't have to say a damned thing. He doesn't live in Massachusetts.
He asked for it.

This is all part of his strategy- he deliberately alienates himself from the liberal Democrats in order to try to gain favor with the Republicans. Well, fuck that.

Maybe if the guy showed some actual LEADERSHIP (oh- I KNOW it's hard) he could CHANGE things in Tennessee....

But, no. It's not about change. It's about Harold, and Harold getting a job.

Screw you, Harold.

17. Sadly enough, I can't say I disagree with you
Ford started out saying the things that we, as left-leaning Democrats wanted to hear and he was even appealing to the middle-of-the-road voter for his straight forward approach. But he has really been exposed as a panderer and a master of double-speak over the past month when his campaign shifted into "We gotta get Republican votes!" mode.

Like I said before, I knew the score going into the race but Harold has really turned me and a lot of other Democrats off by being such a two-faced candidate. Sure, we will still vote for him but I don't feel good doing it.

16. I'm a Tennessean and I'm having a hard time
Dealing with all of the Ford double-speak as of late. Don't get me wrong, I'm still voting for the man and I knew that he was certainly right of center from the get-go, but over the past week he has been a Republican-lite in a race where the Independant vote and turning out your base is going to matter the most. No matter how much his advisors tell him that he can sway Republicans, it isn't going to matter - in the end, they will vote for Corker based on the wedge issues alone. By turning away from the base and the Moderate and Left-leaning independants he is cutting into his own support and that may prove very costly.

He isn't exactly inspiring anyone to vote for him on the Democratic side, he is merely hoping that the Democrats will turn out for him because he has a (D) beside his name. So I'm dissappointed in this race, even though I really had high hopes for Ford.

the alternatives are to stay home or vote for Corker. I think Ford is just doing what he has to do to get elected, a page some dems had to take from the repuke playbook this election cycle unfortunately. I'm to the point, whatever it takes, and hope that the right of center dems that do get elected will show that their tactics to get elected, were just that, tactics, and their future votes in the house and senate will reflect true dem policies.

Only time will tell, but Ford gets my vote this time but he will have to earn through his actions in the Senate for me to vote for him next time.

20. Good catch
Although we know what he meant, the average voter takes that as a "Well he did it, so that means I can too!". That doesn't play well with the middle-class, working Tennessean, thats for sure.

She kept asking "Do you REALLY believe that he was talking about the troops...???"

As if to say "Nobody believes this...why do you?"

my take...

I have to say she gets props for that. Snow said, I don't know - why don't you ask him" like Kerry hasn't already explained himself. But that's another thread...

I've noticed that she is less apt to kiss elephant butt when she is somewhere working with David Gregory. Maybe a little crush?
