There should be no apologies!
I know that the Kerry thing is tired. I'm sick of hearing it myself.

But Kerry not apologizing...ABSOLUTELY the correct approach.

If he were to apologize, the Rove machine would keep him on the defensive and use this as a talking point throughout the rest of the run-up. He probably still will. But the fact that Kerry went on the offensive is the reason that this won't get any worse. And Kerry has nothing to apologize for.

It is about time that Dems stopped apologizing and taking the high road. As individuals, apologizing and not smearing is the right thing to do. It is how, as good people, we should all live our lives.

BUT....in politics, this approach is used against an individual as a weakness. The high road at our last major convention was used against us. A few days later, the Republics (sic) used their convention to slam and smear. Not fun to watch....but unfortunately...very effective in politics.

Time to stop apologizing...time for a knuckle sandwich in the teeth.

1. Not only not apologize, but say something like...
..."If president Bush had ever served in combat instead of going out of hiw way not to, he would know that no combat veteran of one war would ever belittle his fellow comabt vets from another. No, such a combat veteran would only belittle someone who went out of his way to avoid serving in combat during his youth and whose later play at dressup and masquerading at being a warrior now that he is a menopausal old show pony further endangered those who actually do the fighting."

2. EXACTLY!
Turn this into an offensive move. Rove has always been good at making a negative into a positive. We need to do the same thing.
