Boy, the Capitol sure is beautiful...


...and hopefully very soon, it'll be occupied by a Congress worthy of meeting in that august looking building through finally resuming its constitutional duty and again taking up its role in the separation of powers.

(Just thought I'd try a thread where people can take a moment's break from beating each other up.)

1. The Lincoln Memorial is just...awesome.
What that word meant before all the juice got sucked out of it.
There's a grandeur, a melancholy majesty about it that's just humbling. It's not just the size of the sculpture of Lincoln that makes you feel very, very small...but not exactly insignificant.

2. Tried to find a picture of it to post, but of course, none really do it justice...
Still, here goes:




And here's a nice one I found of the Lincoln Memorial Building (oh, with a couple of other sights in the background, it looks like. ;-))
