Poll: Minnesota GOP on verge of implosion, now joins OH, NY, KY, IN as virulently anti-GOP states
Great news from Minnesota, recent polls have put the Democratic challenger for the governor's race, who earlier in the year was running by about 10 points behind in the polls, to 5-10 points over Republican governor Tim Pawlenty, an evangelical fanatic.

The real story is at the federal level, though, where Dem internal polling has them poised to knock off as many as 2 GOP incumbents and capture the open seat vacated by Mark Kennedy. Earlier in the year Amy Klobuchar, running for the senate, was ahead by only 2-3 points. Now?

23 points.

http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2006/senate/mn/minnesota_senate_race-15.html
Last two polls on Minnesota Senate Race:

University of Minnesota
(D) Amy Klobuchar: 55%
(R) Mark Kennedy: 33%

St. Cloud State University
(D) Amy Klobuchar: 56%
(R) Mark Kennedy: 31%

This is starting to shape up as a massacre for Republicans. Especially since Tim Pawlenty actually has something like a 50% approval rating and Mark Dayton, the Democratic senator, only has a 40% approval rating. Out in Kentucky, Indiana and Ohio three very unpopular Republican governors are costing the GOP down ballot since the voters can't take their revenge out against the governor's themselves, and the national mood is naturally trickling down to help.

If we can decapitate them in Minnesota, where we have an unpopular Democratic senator and only an evenly popular Republican governor, are they safe from us anywhere?

Chocola
Sodrel
Hostlettler

No one expects any of these men to be re-elected.

4. Any chance Souder could lose? I was in Elkhart County last week and
saw one sign for him. That was it. And that may have been in front of a campaign office. I am not sure.

7. Most likely he will
Edited on Wed Nov-01-06 04:08 PM by Grebrook
Hostlettler is a guaranteed loss, he's down by 12-20 points.
Sodrel is down by about 10
Chocola down by 5

So Sodrel is almost surely going to lose, Hostletter has no chance, Chocola is unlikely but has the best chance

Sodrel is down by about 3-10 points in every poll takent in months

11. Not Sodrel - Mark Souder , Indiana 3rd - I haven't seen any polling on it.
Northeast Indiana, includes Elkhart County. Likely it is a "safe" Republican seat, but I was hoping maybe not.

5. Sodrel's within 2% either way ...
Chocola and Hosty may or may not lose next week ...

The party faithful turn out on election day around here. Unfortunately.

12. no-no! The sentiment has changed! New Reuters/Zogby poll
indicates Donnelly (D) in my district (2nd) ahead of challenger 50% to 39%! I've been doing internal polling and even half the Rs are telling me over the phone that they are voting for Donnelly! People are really mad at Mitch Daniels and Chocola is the only one they can take it out on right now!

15. I agree that Chocola is down, but it's probably by 5-6, don't put much stock in Zogby, he's a pretty
pad pollster.
