Just curious. How many here have already voted?
Edited on Wed Nov-01-06 05:02 PM by Philosoraptor
I voted two weeks ago, absentee, for Missouri's Democrat Claire Mc Caskill, against the idiot repub jim talentless.

How many have voted early or absentee already?

7. If I vote early, I'll have to go to another precinct
and that one uses touch screen machines. I'm going to wait until election day to vote at my regular precinct. They use punch cards.

9. My county uses paperless touch screens at all the early voting
places, but my local precinct uses optical scanners. Doesn't mean the scanner will read the vote right but at least there is a paper trail of some sort.

19. I'd vote absentee but I don't particularly trust it.
It's bad enough we're going to have electronic voting machines here this year. I'll be using the optional Optical Scan Ballot where you fill in the blank, which I hope is a bit more secure.

24. We voted early
and had no problem with our machines (just the check-in process was messed up). But, from what I've read, some of the FL machines pick the candidate for you (in case you mistakenly vote for a Democrat).

26. I voted yesterday, absentee in Alexandria, VA.....I walked ...
a total of (down and back, in my walking program) four miles to City Hall and voted on a damned E-Slate Hart Intercivic machine. I asked for a paper ballot--he said, we don't have any paper ballots. Idiot I, should have said, OK, I'll go home and print out an absentee ballot from the "internets" and hand deliver it back to you, filled out! I think of these things after the fact! Sheesh!

So print out your absentee ballot, fill it out, and hand deliver it!

32. Voted in Ohio two days ago
Canton you can do absentee or Diebold paper verified machines. With all the absentee bullshit going on I chose the machine with paper. I voted for all Dems except our House of Rep who is a Republican. I put on the tin foil hat thinking that an (R) might not make the machine count all my votes as (R's.)

Rep. Regula will win with about 70% anyway so no harm done. I got to hit the button for Ted Strickland and Sherrod Brown. :)

I showed up at 4:15 thinking the county offices are open until 5:30 so I was in plenty of time. Turns out early voting is only from 10-4.

36. I voted a week ago or so. This is the first year in Ohio for early
voting with no needed excuse. I liked it because I was able to vote in the building that I work in. The Board of Elections is in this building. It was very convenient.
