8. Someone posted this pic in another thread (which got deleted)
Several people said it was photoshopped because all the image distortion where the white b/g surrounds the blue text. Of course you can see that same pixelization around legit photos. But people often claim photos they don't like are photoshopped.

11. You'll notice that they really don't do anything pro-Bush in this picture.
It's funny, not really a vote-switcher. Also, while I saw people claiming it was photoshopped, I saw little evidence presented to prove it was shopped or a hoax of some kind. Mostly it's just a clever joke that doesn't harm Democrats one bit. I suggest a quick chortle and then moving on to real arguments.

13. It's certainly pro-Bush.
In that it's anti-Kerry/Dems and, worse, it's implying that we're not really stuck in Iraq.

14. I think you're reading a little too much into it. It's a morale boosting joke
Guys in groups with a lot of spare time on their hands do goofy stuff like this. I've been there. I see no text, subtext, or pretext for reading scorn or politics in this. Just some funny guys saying "we're not stupid" in a cute way.

20. Are you kidding me?
It's a slam against Kerry if ever there was one. Like the pics of Kerry windsurfing or in the "space suit" at the lab. Or Rove, Hughes, et al. dressed in camouflage to bust on Kerry hunting.

I'm still not clear whether the pic is legit or photoshopped, but this is exactly the type of shit the flip-flop/purple band-aid crowd thrives on.

2. Shouldn't these guys be fighting or something?
Does our military really have time to make signs like this?

I cannot believe this story really made it over there, I wonder if they heard it on Limbaugh, and what will they think if they ever figure out the truth.

9. I agree. This is funny, not mean spirited and certainly not pro-Bush
It's almost apolitical, but it is a cute joke.

15. The railroad car in the background has Texas markings...
There was a high def image on the Wisconsin radio station (620 WTMJ) who posted the original, but the original was removed as soon as that became known.

18. I know there are plenty of great Photoshoppers out there, and...
...I have NOT had a chance to examine the photo in detail yet, but it's pretty darn good. The troops were obviously holding a banner, because the shadows match up real well. The text could have been changed, but if that was done, the 'glare' on the banner is reproduced perfectly. The biggest question I have about it is how FAST it arrived on the scene. Yes, someone could have emailed it to any Rightie site for attention, but when this news broke yesterday, it was the middle of the night in Irak.

I really want to know if this has been seriously debunked...

19. Glad to see they haven't lost their sense of humor.
I wonder how this information is getting to the troops...I imagine it is packaged from a RW perspective. Will the Pentagon be validating any anti-Bush banners/pics soon?
