It says "Democrat Party" on my Challenger Pass
I represent the second district of Independence Township in Warren County, NJ and I just received my challenger pass, which lets me challenge the validity of votes in my district. It says I represent the "Democrat Party", an offensive slur against Democrats.

I don't think I can get them to change it without getting a lot of people to call them up and ask them (nicely). I don't even think I know how to do it nicely. It pisses me off so much.

So, if you don't mind, give the Warren County Board of Elections a phone call during business hours and ask them to make it say "Democratic Party" on their Challenger Passes. Writing letters is cool, too.

Thank you for your help.

1. Sounds like the results of that area's elections are already
decided, since the Bd of Elections is obviously a bunch of fascist creeps. That's a DELIBERATE slur against Dems, and if I were calling I wouldn't be the least bit nice about it.

Edited on Thu Nov-02-06 11:22 PM by liberaldemocrat7
and I have a few t shirts and mugs with that name :)

If you get as many people to call their party the REPUBLIKLAN Party they will stop calling our party that slur and call our party the right name.

5. I called them...
I told them I was from Oxford and I said (Very Nicely) that "Democrat" instead of "Democratic" was an insult. She seemed very surprised. She said they use it "interchangeably".. I let her know, you know, as a public service, that it was like when Democrats use "Repuglican" instead of "Republican".. and she laughed and said she'd pass it on.

Here are some towns in Warren County, if anyone is interested in reinforcing the message (really nicely, of course)
Allamuchy, Alpha, Belvidere, Blairstown, Franklin, Frelinghuysen, Greenwich, Hackettstown, Hardwick, Harmony, Hope, Independence, Knowlton, Liberty, Lopatcong, Mansfield, Oxford, Phillipsburg, Pohatcong, Washington Boro./Twp., and White.

7. I called them too...
She said she'll pass it along in a sing song voice. I didn't push it. I doubt it will make a difference.

11. I know it's "The Democratic" Party and
we're Democrats but I don't see how it's an insult? I thought they were just saying Democrat Party because they didn't want to remind people that we were Democratic.

And they're republiCONs.

13. It is an insult because it was something the repunks
came up mostly attributed to Newt boy - probably part of his word list project

http://mediamatters.org/items/200608160005

and if you notice the repunks almost ALWAYS use it although I heard one of them slip up the other day someone but I can't remember who - and the MSM have followed their lead and most of the MSM does it too. and it SO PISSES ME OFF.

16. I guess that means I can slightly alter their party's pronunciation . .
Like, for instance, instead of saying the "Republican" party, I can say "The Un-American Neo-Fascist" party.

Or the "Authoritarian Warmonger Hatecamp" party.

Or the "Fuck the Middle Class" party.

Just inject slight typos for comedic license.

18. Tempest In A Teapot!!!
Geez, folks; haven't you figured it out yet? That "slur" is becoming more prominent because the radical right knows it bothers you. Don't give them the satisfaction of worrying about something so tangential.

if that's what it takes to keep them from blowing people up, I'll let them get away with it.
