My state has a referendum on the Death Penalty, so

I just did a little calculation comparing murder rates in states with and without the death penalty. Here are the results:

Murders per 100,000 population

Death Penalty 5.305405405
No DP 2.9

Probability of results arising by chance=0.008161039

I used the data set provided by DUer MannyGoldstein on his blog, http://www.blueworksbetter.com/ .
