on the relief your mom has now that she isn't in pain. My dad died in July from pneumonia due to radiation therapy for lymphoma. It was a blessing for him to get away from the pain but hard on all of us. Right now, it doesn't feel like you will be able to be happy again but you will. Just know your mom is happy and with her family. She is love personified and she is sending it to you because she loves you. She will always be loving you and by your side. Trust me. You will feel better again.

My mom died Oct. 15 while I was on the train trying to get to her. I was gone the whole week, not able to post on DU, and now it's kind of late to be doing so. Not trying to hijack your thread or your pain -- just a DU hug :hug: from another grieving daughter.

In my mom's case, death came as a welcome guest. She had been in so much pain for the past year and a half, and her life had really become a torment to her in the past several months. She badly wanted out, and kept trying to will herself to die. She was lucid enough during her last crisis to tell the ER docs that she wanted no more surgery -- and they gave her plenty of morphine. My brother and daughter were with her.

We understand, but we are bereft. :cry:

You will have a thousand things to do over the next while, so take help and support where you can. :grouphug:
