This is exactly why I didn't think JK should apologize.
So many said "it will end the story," but I said NO WAY...all the BushCo machine would do is switch to making the apology the big story, with an opportunity to repeat the "botched joke" story for a few more days.

BINGO.

8. See? That's my problem.
I won't vote for her in a primary, but Hillary is my senatorial candidate and there is no alternative to a Democratic vote this year.

I don't see how someone that consistently gutless can lead a nation.

10. "I don't see how someone that consistently gutless can lead...
a nation." I don't either.

We need to take back Congress and the WH, but after that, we need to do some house cleaning...

2. Amen.
You don't play on their court. They are not honest or decent. Any apology is pushed as an affirmation of their lies.

3. Agreed, and if he did, he should have stayed in the limelight and use his facetime
to counterattack.

But the chicken in the party have spoken, unfortunately. We will have to remember that later.

5. It shouldn't have even BEEN a story. . .
this manufactured bullsh*t was outrageous, and symbolic of how much the media creates scandal out of nothing.

Then again, I have not seen ONE Democratic ad pointing out the outrageous behavior of Republicans in Congress...nothing about the Schiavo debacle (and yes, people REMEMBER that) - nothing about manipulation of oil prices, nothing about letting Falwell and company CHOOSE our Supreme Court justices. . .is it impossible for us to take some definite stands or have we been brainwashed into some stupid notion that con-servatives are really popular and we have to make nice to Republicans while they spread fear-and-smear? You don't stand up to bullies by cowering and apologizing for calling them on their crap - you hit them again and again until they never bully anyone again.

6. By apologizing, all Kerry did was add a new twist to the story and allow...
...the corporate media to spend yet another day wallowing in the "latest development."

7. Thanks Hillary for that - Once she had spoken, he had nothing else to do.
The story was going to continue on how Democrats are against Kerry.

9. Once the gaffe was made it was a lose-lose situation for Kerry.
The only way he may have been able to prevent this from blowing up was by correcting his joke immediately after flubbing the line. By not correcting his mistake immediately, the repubics saw an opportunity and ran with it. Once the repubics got their dirty hands on it, nothing Kerry did would have made a difference. They would have hounded him for not apologizing, and they're still trying to make hay of it even though he has apologized.

11. Exactly, Atman. Whose media are they, anyway?
They are owned by the likes of General Electric, Rupert Murdoch and Disney Corp.
None of them are democracies and are run like fascist hierarchies.
None of them support democracy, especially in the USA.

Like Bush, they are traitors.

12. Why the fuck are you STILL talking about Kerry? What about Boehner?
This shows how impotent DU can really be.

Reid attacked Boeher, that story still has the capacity to hit the news if DU'ers really tried to push it, but DU'ers would rather this assinine circle jerk of discussion about something that happened DAYS ago.

13. I'm talking about BOTH; but MORE about BUSH LEAVING A SOLDIER BEHIND
Boehner and Kerry and non-stories, and pale in comparison to the Commander In Chief ABANDONING ONE HIS SOLDIERS BEHIND "ENEMY" LINES. Even more disgusting, he abandoned his own man after taking his marching orders from Maliki and Al Sadr. But what do expect from a man who never spent a day in the service. To W, being left behind only meant missing the transport back from the strip club while on R&R during his little vacation in the Texas ANG.
