Media shocked that law enforcement involved in selling drugs

What rock do these people live on? It's funny but kind of sad, do they live in their own little fantasy land apart from reality?

1. Remember how HEAVILY media covered up CIA drugrunning story in 1995
and even worked actively to bring down the career of the investigative journalist who tracked the story?

That was a sad day for America - unfortunately Clinton administration was busy covering up for Bush1 on this, and downplayed the matter as if it didn't happen. Documents turned over a couple years later revealed the story was dead on, but media barely reported that fact.

Coverups like this is what brought this country the horror of 9-11 and the Bush2 presidency.

2. Here's a stupid question
Why does the CIA do this? Is it because they can funnel the profits to illegal operations, or use the smuggling to help regimes the US supports, or what?

9. It also props up the economy, believe it or not. If you pulled out
the money spent on illegal drugs---if you REALLY 'won' the 'drug war'----our economy would collapse. Seriously. That's probably why we don't ever try that hard to win that 'war.'

5. They trade drugs for arms and paid terrorism. Drugs raise untraceable billions
of dollars at the drop of a hat, and can also be used to control or destroy targeted American communities or strategically placed villages in targeted countries.

Part of the 1995 story was that drugs were flooding inner city Los Angeles neighborhoods. The reporter won a Pulitzer but that didn't stop many establishment types spreading the lie it was a hoax.

12. It's what they do...
money, power, validation for a police state and prison industrial complex.

They bring it in, run it to their approved dealers, use the police to bust the competition(unapproved dealers), then reap the benefits of an intimidated fractured immoral population, seizure of property, and profits of prison slave labor. It's a win-win situation, money is made on the front end and the back end. It's nothing new and has been going on far longer than the CIA has been in existence.

10. The old "Cops have the best dope" adage comes to mind.
But it's usually still the BFEE faction of the CIA that gets the drugs out there.

No surprise this is in Virginia.

13. K & R
Nice wording, by the way: what ROCK do these people live on? They are probably disappointed that, for all their contact with law enforcement, they never got a taste.
