Lieberman will be a no show tonight at Quinnipiac debate
How will CT voters feel about this? I hope they have an empty chair for him, well empty except for a box of Cocoa Puffs.

Senate candidates set to hold debate on campus

As the much-anticipated Senatorial election nears on November 7, Quinnipiac is set to host a debate between Democratic candidate Ned Lamont and Republican candidate Alan Schlesinger in the School of Communications' TV studio.

Candidates will debate on a variety of campaign issues from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, November 2.

Senator Joe Lieberman, who is running as an independent candidate after losing to Lamont in the Democratic primary, is not on the roster for the debate as he has not yet responded to the invitation. David Donnelly, Dean of the School of Communications, said that Quinnipiac is "keeping our fingers crossed" for an appearance by Lieberman.

The debate will not be open to students or professional media. Instead, attendees will have to watch from Mancheski Seminar Room in the School of Business where a screen projector will be set up for the event.

The event was organized by Rick Hancock, Assistant Dean of the School of Communications, and sponsored by Fox 61 and The Hartford Courant. Fox 61 WTIC-TV will televise the debate.

2. Odd to say, but Go Alan Schlesinger, too
If he looks and sound good, he will draw votes away from Lieberman.

6. one more indication of Lieberman's egotism...
not even bothering to show up for a debate to allow the people of CT to make an informed decision when they vote...but then, if he doesn't look good next to Lamont or Schlesinger...he might lose votes...
