This is a good indication of why Dean's 50-state strategy has paid off
This weekend, the final weekend before the election, George W. Bush is campaigning in Nebraska's third congressional district:

In 1992--Bill Clinton ran third in this district behind Bush I and Perot
In 1996--Dole won this district over Clinton 59-29
In 2000--Bush II won 71% in this district.
In 2004--Bush II won 75% in this district.

The GOP have held this seat for 48 years!! In 2004, Republican Tom Osborne won 87% of the vote against no opposition.

If this isn't a clue of how bad it is for the GOP in the House this year, I don't know what is. The Democratic candidate, Scott Kleeb is running six-points ahead of the gop nominee in one survey.

By actually contesting Republicans even in districts which seem lossed--Dr. Dean has made a real impact. Bush is going to use his time and GOP money here rather than some place else.

2. Franken and Oliphant gave Dean MAJOR props today
Anyone have an address for Dean so that I can send him a nice thank you gift?

If all plays out according to plan, I think that Dean will not only have helped the Democrats restore some sanity to Washington, but he will have laid the foundation for a robust Democratic party.

Dean put Conventional Wisdom on the ground next to him and proceeded to poop on it. Way to go!
