If we win both Houses, does that hurt us for 08'? |
|
Just wondering, because many voters are voting the accountability factor and if the Dems go into 08' with both the Senate and the House that could push voters to vote for the Repug.

1. If the Dems don't do anything productive, it could hurt. |
|
But if they do take affirmative steps toward halting the pending train wreck this country is on course for, then no, I don't think so.

Stem cell research bill. The let him veto it again. Then do it again. Then let him veto it again. Wash, rinse, repeat.

2. The Dems will have to produce and show they can govern well |
|
And not get hung up on stuff that turns the average voter off.

3. As corrupt and mendacious as this GOP WH has been? |
|
I doubt it. I fully expect the GOP to offer a fundy sacrificial lamb so they'll have Democrats to blame when the logical outcome of 39 years of solid conservative rule occurs.

6. No, even if we do pass |
|
good legislation it will be vetoed and this will show the need for the WH too. People want things stopped even more than they want things passed right now, they want accountabilit and they want people who are trying at the least to change direction because they can see we are headed off a cliff.

it's actually very relevant....the sad fact is ...we don't live in a reality driven society, but a talking points driven society...pushed by the MSM.

10. I didn't say irrelevant, I said silly, specifically not to be it. |
|
By your own logic, there's no reason to believe anything that happens today will matter two years from now.

8. It would let dems define themselves. |
|
Stem Cell funding, minimal wage increase, cutting subsidies for big corps, healthcare and prescription drug reform. These are things the people WANT, if we force the pugs to oppose them, we look BETTER in 2008.
It's a lot easier to have Denny Hastert bury a bill than to have to VETO it.
