BREAKING: Actual notes from the "botched joke" discovered!!
This just in, via ABC...

"Two days ago, Kerry stirred controversy when he told a group of California students that individuals who don't study hard and do their homework would likely "get stuck in Iraq." Several 3x5 cards said to have Kerry's handwriting have been discovered in the trash close to the podium from which he spoke. They may prove the senator had mistakenly dropped a key phrase from his prepared remarks, which were originally written to say "get stuck being president." In that context, they said, it was clear Kerry was referring to Bush, not to the troops."

(yeah, you wish...)

1. The lie is on the front of my newspaper:
It said "Kerry apologizes for remarks about U.S. troops" -- that is an absolute lie and fabrication. And, if it's ever corrected, that will be in the middle of the paper or in an op-ed.

This media is the WORST media in the world.

2. no doubt... are we even surprised anymore? i shouldn't have posted this...
because i hate feeding it, and DUs been pretty good about letting this one go and remaining focused on the main goal. But i kinda think its good if we share ways to shrug it all off so that we can keep on truckin...

7. No, I'm glad you posted it. I think they SHOULD do an investigation
of the crime committed by the media. The shame should be on them for botching this story so BAD. It doesn't affect 2006; of this I am sure.

4. 'Yeah you wish' - actually I could care less.
The story is over, and 'discovered' notes would not have changed a thing anyhow.

5. Memo to all politicians.. If you need notes to tell a joke
D O N' T TELL IT...

Humor is the hardest thing to do.. If you are not a comedian, your jokes are most likely followed by "polite" applause, and please don't mistake it for the real thing.

If we want to hear comedy, we'll go to a comedy show.

We want and expect YOU to tell us what you plan to do about the serious things that vex us..

Save the comedy for your family and friends..

6.  Kerry is a decorated veteran who never would demean men in uniform. I'm sure
he was referring to Bush with his remark but he should have said "..and get a country mired in an oil field." Very poor choice of wording by a man who is no dummy. Nonetheless a rock once started down a hill gains it's own momentum and is not easily turned around. Unfortunately, once he mispoke himself I think the damage was done. all we can hope for is that people will just identify the remark with KErry and not generalize to Dems in general.

I WISH however, people would consider that given he is a veteran who performed with bravery under fire, that to think he would knock men in uniform is ludicrous.
