Civics 101...a television program i'd like to see. |
|
given the seemingly low intellect level of some/many Americans- I'd really like to see some type of weekly prime-time program on one of the MAJOR commercial networks that would EDUCATE people, in an entertaining and engaging way, about the way that their government works. something that would go in-depth, and actually EXPLAIN things to people- where taxes come from, and in what proportion- and where the money goes...what the national debt actually is, and who benefits/loses from it...the function of lobbyists...etc.etc...it would certainly be something much more worthwhile than drivel like "dancing with the D-list stars". BUT- since the networks are a totally complicit partner of the corpro-fascists- i won't hold my breath...an educated electorate is their worst nightmare.

You know, people cannot think logically anymore, have no idea what a valid inference is.

I'm sorry - but don't wish for that. :(
Who was it today that said the military budget was 9% of GDP under JFK and therefore we need to spend MORE on defense today. That's what I'm afraid we'd get out of any 'educational' program from the corporate media.
