Gas prices headed back up --> $.06 overnight here...
Going to work this morning I was flabbergasted to see the gas prices hiked from $2.19 to $2.25 here in Florida. (Naples-Fort Myers area)

I heard the gas price hike on CNN radio6-7 days ago but nothing from msm or newspapers anywhere.

Anyone in here notice gas price hikes in your area? if so could you post please.

2. It is back up to $2.29 here in Northern WV
Price increase starting a few days early so the Repugs and the Oil Industry can deny that
the prices were artificially lowered for political reasons.

I always wondered why regular gasoline went down so fast, but the Diesel fuel stayed up close to $3.00/gal the whole time.

3. Impossible, for month I have heard they will be low before the election.
Of course, they were supposed to be low before the 2004 election also and they were at all time highs.

I am also waiting for the last minute martial law and the cancellation of the election. Oh ,Oh I almost forgot the invasion of Iran before Tuesday. Damn, that means they have less than 5 days to de thaw Osama before they trot him out.

But then, I am still counting the 72 business hours until the Rove indictment also.

7. Big SUV sales started going back up attributing it to lower gas prices
and just when you think, is this for real? - will gas go back up to $3.00 - $4.00 per gallon?? me and the wife were going shopping for a new SUV this weekend but this recent gas hike with Bushco could end up at anybody's freegin guess!

5. The drop in gas price hasn't really made that much difference in....
the Congressional races (the Dems are way ahead---> YES!) so do they give a shit if gas prices go up now? Not really an issue at this point, IMHO.

9. Interesting, wonder where gas prices will be election day, usually prices are low this
time of year because it's after labor day, everyone has already gone on vacation so there is little travel which always caused supply & demand to drop.

Chevron recently announced their HUGE oil find and still no slack?!!

10. Jeez, just wait until after the election!
When we get "punished" by Big Oil. And then get to hear their bullshit excuses how they don't control the price of gas...it's a global demand thing, don't ya know.

14. Oil companies to max up profits for Christmas buying season, GOP didn't gain squat
I've noticed their not mentioning lowered gas prices in speeches. Enjoyed it while I though we would see at least gas prices in the high $1.90's at least

16. Yep. $0.08 here as we speak - right across the street from each other.
Edited on Thu Nov-02-06 10:51 PM by TahitiNut
The Citgo is at $2.17 and the BP is at $2.25 ... and they're ALWAYS within a penny of each other. This follows a similar $0.09 jump a week ago. They couldn't hold the low of $2.09 for more than a day or two in mid-October.

It's November ... greed is taking hold again. They just weren't able to totally wait until next week.

17. Early November is when many states switch to Winter blends
At least that's the way it is up here in the snow belt.

Usually, when gas stations make the switch, prices go up a bit. This could be a reason why.

18. GOP didn't gain squat, oil companies see $$$ in Christmas buying season and
it would have been too obvious to begin raising gas prices after the election, so Oil execs tell Karl to brace for gas price hike complaints BEFORE the election.
