Last week at the vigil I spent the entire hour on my knees |
|
I had on an orange prisoner jumpsuit and wore a black hood over my head. My hands were cuffed behind my back.
60 minutes only- about 20 minutes into this I needed to shift my weight frequently from side to side. I'm 5'8, 138 lbs- in shape. I tried to meditate
At 40 minutes I had serious doubts I was going to last the entire hour. Doc O'malley told me the folks passing by would look at me, while pretending not to look at me. I couldn't see out of the hood, but he told me I was making the masses uncomfortable.
At 45 minutes time began to s-l-o-w w-a-y down. My knees were aching. At times I felt lightening bolts of pain shear right through them. At 60 minutes, my left leg was asleep, I stood up and could not control it.
THIS WAS TORTURE! This and anything harsher is disgusting deplorable!

4. Just the weekly vigil in my town. |
|
I've taken to street theater.
A few times we've had the fucked-foursome in the jumpsuits wearing the bush, condi, cheney, rummy masks.
My nude body-sock, or leotard, unitard, whatever you want to call it just came in, so this weekend I'll have on the Bush mask a crown, royal cape for the emperor extremely naked and exposed.

6. "I gotta go to the vigil" |
|
3 yrs ago this sentence would have sounded so weird. Now it just rolls off the tongue. "Nope I can't go do something fun that day with you cuz I gotta go to the vigil"
They started out quite somber, a lot of Quakers at one of the weekly vigils I attend. Then I just couldn't take it, and my signs got bolder- Then the signs didn't seem effective anymore. The zombies just seem to walk by in their consumer unconnected trance. The costumes and acting definately get attention.
Wish I could stop saying "I gotta go to the vigil"

Years ago, while taking martial arts classes, I had to kneel for extended periods of time. Even then, I thought of it as 'torture'. And I could move around and shift if the pain got too bad.
Shackled in that position? For hours? :scared:
