Anyone else betting on an incident in the Persian Gulf exercises with Iran this weekend? |
|
NOTHING else but another 9/11 would save the Repubes this time. I feel that Iran knows this and may be seeking to make a provocation easy by scheduling side by side exercises this month. The Iranians want to bait Bushco into attacking more than Bush himself wants to attack. So, to me, in the right circumstances, an attack on the nuke facilities (either with or without Israel's help) seems almost inevitable.
Any thoughts?

2. Well, it could happen one out of two ways with my limited knowlege. |
|
The Iranian Navy is practicing "war games" in their region immediately after the U.S. Navy et al did their "war games" last week.
One: An "errant" Iranian missile goes astray, hits something American and the fuse is lit. The excuse of "accidents happen" will not be considered.
Two: The American military explodes its own device, destroys something of its own, and blames the Iranian government and the fuse is lit.
And yes, Karl is crazy and power-hungry enough to do it.

there's a big dick waving contest going on in the Persian Gulf and someone's dick is going to get stepped on. When you go looking for trouble you usually find it. This could be the Bush Administration's "November surprise", the ONLY thing that could possibly save their strangle hold on power. I'm hoping against hope that cooler heads prevail out there, that this doesn't turn into a staged Bush "wag the dog" event.
Another NOLA Dem! :applause: A belated welcome :hi: I love your fair city (all except the oppressive heat and humidity in the summer). I've been down there 3 times since "the big one" helping out, doing what I could to help, anyway. There's so much to do yet. I hope you faired well with minimal loss of property and zero loss of friends and loved ones. NOLA is coming back, better than before. We should have a NOLA DU meet-up sometime. I certainly wouldn't mind visiting again.

5. they're desperate . . . and desperate men do desperate things . . . |
|
absolutely nothing would surprise me between now an next Tuesday . . . but they'd be totally crazy to try something this close to the election . . .
then again, "totally crazy" is probably an apt description of the BushCo brigades . . .
