7. Dems to fight minority voter intimidation
Democrats said they have 1,000 volunteer lawyers ready to make sure there are no Republican shenanigans in minority, urban districts (NJ) on Election Day and announced a hotline — (888) 565-7950 for anyone whose right to vote is unfairly challenged at the polls

In 1981, Republicans won a tight governor's race in New Jersey after attempting to harass minorities at the polls.

8. Bears POOP IN WOODS
I don't think that any of us should be any doubt about it.

The past 6 years has taught us that the BUSH-CHENEY-ROVE regime is all about holding onto power BY ANY MEANS NECESSARY (to use an old expression - "fair or foul").

I am counting on our good friend Dr Dean to take this issue more seriously than happened in the past.

10. That is why the DNC is different today than it was in 2004
I also believe Dean is taking this seriously

12. Tip of the iceberg
Edited on Fri Nov-03-06 09:06 AM by LiberalEsto
At Fannie Mae in DC, where about 80% of the company's 3,000 workers are Democrats, the rethug CEO scheduled a mandatory 8 a.m. company-wide meeting on Election Day. (This is so people can't vote early). Many Fannie Mae workers put in long hours of forced, unpaid overtime (or else!) so that will likely keep them from voting in the evening.

Cleverly, they announced this meeting Nov. 1, one day too late for those from Maryland to get absentee ballots.

However, someone must have raised a fuss, because they removed the word "mandatory" from the meeting announcement yesterday.

My question: how many other rethug company owners are trying similar tactics to keep their employees from voting on Election Day?

13. Aren't there laws that say employers have to give
employees time off to vote?

14. Maryland has one
but I don't think DC or Virginia do.

Maybe that's why they removed the word "mandatory" from the meeting announcement.
