I Haven't Written About Dadcom In A While - He Called Me Last Night |
|
you remember my Dad. life-long (Conservative, not freakish) Repub. registered as Indy 2 years ago and took a "wait and see" approach to politics.
he called last night and told me he and mom were voting STRAIGHT DEM this election. said there are a couple of local Dems he really doesn't agree with but it was time to "SEND EVERY REPUBLICAN IN GOVERNMENT HOME FOREVER"
straight. ticket. DEM.
also said his golfing buddies (most Repuke) were likely to do the same. everyone is disgusted.
this is western North Carolina.

4. What did YOU say when he said that? |

Edited on Fri Nov-03-06 08:32 AM by aquart
My stepfather was a conservative Republican. Long after he died we were still getting mail from Jesse Helms. During Viet Nam, dinner at our house was a screaming, nasty mess of indigestion...and during Watergate...oy.
Then one day he told me that it was possible Nixon was guilty...two days later Nixon resigned.
The Republicans have lost their support. It is over. If the Republicans still retain their seats...they will be seats too hot to sit in.

Let's hope Dadcom's feelings are mirrored across the country by traditionally <R> voting members of his generation (and others, of course)!!!

11. I hope he becomes a Registered DEM |
|
because if he's still registered REP, they can get away with counting his vote REP, no matter how he actually votes.

17. This revolution takes men and women of conscience on both sides |
|
We may yet discover our common ground. We are all Americans who want what is best for our country regardless of party affiliation.
This year what's best is to stop the neoconfascists in their tracks.
Let's just hope the voting machines record the votes correctly.
