WSJ Reporter on C-Span says Internet Investigators Driving MSM Reporters!
Edited on Fri Nov-03-06 09:22 AM by KoKo01
to report Congressperson's Abuses of Campaign Money/Pacs. His name was "Paultrow, Paulson" (I didn't catch the spelling), but he credited the Internet with providing competetion to reporters and push investigations.

Thought all of you here who love to do research would like to hear this and sites like Josh Marshall's have also been all over the Congressional Scandals.

The WSJ, reporters on with Brian (other one's name was Mullins) were talking about Rep Jerry Lewis and others using their Pacs and Private Corporate Jets for their junkets abroad and at home.

Anyway, good to hear the "Internets" get credit. In fairness most newspapers have had their staffs cut back so that there's not much money for the time spent to do deep research...but if they can use the folks out here who do it for free...then it's a good thing.

2. KR What a hoot! So its our fault that they're gettig tough...haha
This is convenient...this has been going on hot and heavy, on the internet, for several years. Now, all of a sudden, they turn on Bush, as if they were commanded to do so, and they say "it's da blogs, da blogs."

Great post. Makes my day;)

4. The journalism void by the media conglomerates
has to be filled. Democracy depends on it.

5. I do it because it is my pleasure
there's something demeaning about accepting money just for telling the truth.

6. It's the Repukes' own fault ... they made sure that some guy in his
mommy's basement was able to bring down Dan Rather, just by claiming that the only piece of evidence they had of * showing up for his National Guard duty was faked ...

Once that story gained credibility (so to speak) by repetition in the media, it gave credibility to the blogs ... an unintentional side-effect that is helping to bring down the Republicans now ...
