Matt Lauer was disgusting with Andy Card this morning |
|
The big story on TODAY was supposed to be the nukes secrets possibly revealed on the internet and they had on ex-Bush Chief of Staff Andy Card. After a quick question about that in which Card asserted that the GOP is the party of "national security"--(Oh yeah, Lauer also asked if he thought this nuke secrets scandal was politically motivated since it came out just before the election) But anyway, after that Lauer suddenly shifts to Kerry's gaffe including playing a clip of Bush demanding an apology, and the rest of the interview is on that! Why? What did that have to do with our government possibly revealing nuke secrets to terrorists?

against Kerry. Like he didn't think Bush really could believe that Kerry thinks the troops are stupid, and that Bush went over the line for political gain. Card looked shocked that one of their pet media types was so frisky, and didn't really have a good answer.
I'm considering forgiving Matt.

7. I didn't see it quite that way--yes he did ask Card if he really thought |
|
that Kerry meant that the troops were uneducated, but my whole point is why was most of the interview on that issue instead of the other topic?

I was not certain if I was watching the Today Show or a SNL spoof ... this was about as blatant example of pandering to the republicans as I have ever seen on TV, and I have seen a lot.
I have been very happy with Meredith on Today ... and I had not watched the show since 2004. Too bad they can't can Matt and put David Gregory on with Meredith. That is a show I would watch.

8. Tweety was just as bad with Card last night - I was trying to make dinner |
|
and was practically falling over from laughter several times. Card was talking about what a voracious reader * was (didn't mention 3 Shakepeares), and how he started "coming in to work" a full 15 MINUTES EARLIER after 9/11...we appreciate your tremendous sacrifice for our country, A-HOLE!
