What's next for Ted Haggard?
It looks like the meth use is a given, backed up by the voicemails. But the gay sex isn't backed up by the voicemails. OTOH he *was* getting his meth from a gay escort, which won't sit well with the church elders.

So I'm thinking:

- His resignation becomes permanent (New Life Church can't afford to lose members)
- Wife divorces him (maybe she could forgive an "indiscretion" with a woman, but gay sex? Nope.)

No evangelical group will touch him. No GOP group will want to be associated with him. No radio shows or TV shows for Ted.

Just another has-been like Jim Bakker?

12. There's already a script for this.
He'll get in front of the cameras (after the election, of course), maybe shed a few tears and try to tremble a little, look upward, say how he has sinned, ask for forgiveness from a whole damn bunch of folks including god, wife, children, friends, donors & congregants (most important), maybe bush and others. He probably won't ask forgiveness from those whom he has so hypcritically criticized, disparaged and trashed as sinners. Then, all the brainless lemmings will say how he was overcome by temptation, the devil and what not, he will fade into obscurity and that will be that.

Standard Scandal procedure for Republicans.

Oh yeah, high priced lawyer negotiates for slap on wrist maximum for any illegal acts due to his previous high standing in the community, alcohol/drug addiction not being a poor minority

16. There's no way he comes back
Eventually, he can probably worm his way into some other movement, but his days at the top of the heap are over. He's done a great service to the Dem party, truly exposing how hypocritical these punks are.

17. this is what going to happen ala Foley

Alcohol Rehab. "I'm a drunk and drug users that what made me do it".

Blames his gay relationship on a assault by a pastor when he was younger.

Homosexuality Rehab. "I sinned" and attempts to attempt some sort of church rehab.

He regain some sort of church leadership role possible as a consultant for churches nationwide.

In 5 years, he will be spotted at a Gay Bar in Washington DC.
