Arizona - Pederson(D) leads Kyl(R) in early voting poll, closes gap in other polls
Keep an eye on this race -- things are changing....

*ARIZONA**: The DSCC put $1 million into Arizona yesterday, releasing a new television commercial highlighting how Jon Kyl has marched in lockstep with Bush while catering to the special interests. Watch the Ad. <http://www.dscc.org/news/multimedia/20061102_change/> The ad buy coincides with data showing Jim Pederson closing in on Kyl – A Harstad poll has Pederson leading in early voting, 44% - 40%, while an Arizona Star poll has Pederson dramatically closing Kyl’s lead to just 4.5 points (46-41) … Bill Clinton stumped for Pederson, bringing a surge of Democratic momentum to the state.

1. I'm keeping my fingers crossed!
I voted early last week... for Pederson, of course!

I'll be watching that race all night long on Tues. It'll probably not be called til late. I expect it to be a close race.

2. Pederson will win. Stu Rothenberg said if an incumbent isn't polling at
50% or above, at this point in the election, he's TOAST. Kyl is toast!

8. Well, no
BECAUSE they are saying Menendez isn't REALLY an incumbent because he was chosen by Corzine to replace him after he won the Governor's seat. That's THEIR logic, not mine.:hi: I'll take it though.

5. .
Arizona would be the big surprise I guess and it would really bring us closer to at least 51 Senate seats.
I saw some close polls, but not that close yet. And I don't know whether it was helpful for the Dems that the Repubs now know that Pederson leads at the moment. It will energize the Repubs to get out the vote.

6. 44% - 40%
Why that's only 84%!

That leaves 16% undecided. So Pederson gets 11% and he wins? Doable, eh?

7. 12% refused to answer the question. 4% voting the indie candidate, I think

9. If the Dems can take 52 seats that makes Loserman irrelevant.
If we take only 50 or 51 he becomes way too important - unless he signed a contract to caucus with Dems.

10. There could be some real surprises this year
The wingnuts are getting REAL discouraged. And discouraged people find something else to do on Election Day.
