Dole: Dems satisfied with losing Iraq

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- North Carolina GOP Sen. Elizabeth Dole, the chairwoman of the National Republican Senatorial Committee, brushed aside suggestions the Iraq war would cause widespread GOP loses and said that the Democrat's plan for the war-torn country would increase the threat of terror to the United States.

"For a person to think that voting for a Democrat for the Senate is going to fix the situation in Iraq makes no sense," Dole told CNN's Soledad O'Brien on 'American Morning.' "That's just not the case. Let me point out here, too, that for us to leave -- and it seems that Democrats are saying they're satisfied or content with losing, if we were to withdrawal from Iraq at this point, there's no question that this would leave a void there, a breeding ground for attacking the United States again."

Dole also pointed to historical trends unfavorable to a president's party in midterm elections as a reason some GOP candidates from Republican friendly states are locked in tight races.

"A midterm election is always tougher," Dole said. "When a president has been re-elected, there's that six-year itch, and history shows that it becomes even tougher. Our candidates have known that all along, since the first day that I arrived at the senatorial committee, we realized what this cycle would be like."

3. Sorry, Liddy. You can't put lipstick on that pig.
The Iraq war is already lost. Apparantly, repubs are satisfied with throwing more lives and money at a lost cause.

"we realized what this cycle would be like". Um--you realized that this cycle could be the first time since 1952 that the GOP, or any party, does not gain a single seat held by the opposite party? How smart you are!

5. Repigs satisfied with losing New Oleans
R's satisfied with young men and women being killed for an unjust war.
R's satisfied with the slaughter of over 600,000 Iraqi citizens.
R's satisfied with Americans having no healthcare.

Anyone want to add to the list? There's plenty left.

immediately fix Iraq, but it's a step in the right direction. And the reason Congressional rethuglicans are locked in tight races is that 58% of this country is tired of your shit. And finally, can we talk? What have they promised you...space on the '08 ticket? Be a smart woman. Sit down and STFU.

10. Hey Big Bag O'Hair
It was never ours. We preemptively invaded a sovereign nation based on lies. Just how many more people have to die to cover these lies? Your Dear Leader and his puppet masters did this. Get pissed at them.

11. You can't hang the Iraq war on the Democrats.
This is Bush's War.

The Democratic Party will take over the Legislative Branch next week
but the Executive Branch will still be run by Republicans. You know,
the people who started this misbegotten war. The ones who mis-managed it.
The ones who have drenched themselves in blood. The Republicans.

They started it, they screwed it up, it's their responsibility.

It's simply disingenuous to try to lay the blame on the Democratic Party.

Screw you, Mrs. Dole. You aren't fooling anybody. Not even yourself.
