ROFL, Idiots at 'HotAir' think evolution is a joke, fail to see sarcasm in new South Park episode
http://hotair.com/archives/2006/11/01/video-south-park-on-evolution/

Did anyone watch the South Park episode the other night about evolution in public schools. Basically it was a mockery of how right-wingers have such a simple view of evolution and are utterly unable to refute it. But apparently the conservatives that post over at Hot Air are so oblivious, they actually thought the SouthPark creators sided with them and were actually mocking evolution.

Jesus, how do we ever lose elections to these people?

2. South Park is part of the liberal media conspiracy?
Read this gem:

"

How dare HotAir post this! This is not newsey!

First Foley videos and now this. Clearly, AP trying to subvert the Republican/Conservative agenda by posting this.

Or is that just crazy talk?

:spray:

I agree, how DO we keep losing election after election to these idiots?

3. Yeah, well, the confusion is understandable because those South Park boys
so often have their little pointy heads wedged up their right-wing asses.

5. Cartman's the only right-winger
Kyle and Stan are pretty sensible young men, and would probably be liberals or at least moderates

9. I meant Parker and Stone.

First off, that show is VASTLY overrated (in terms of pure humor value, give me Beavis and Butt-head any day) and while the Movie certainly had some funny bits, they've been coasting on foul language and cheap shots for way too long. Don't get me wrong, foul language is great, and cheap shots -against far right fundies, for instance- do have their place...

That said, I think it's clear where Parker & Stone's sympathies lie (Al Gore? Global Warming? Yuk Yuk Yuk. Har Har Har!), and not just because they told the ACLU they're registered Republicans. They position themselves as "libertarians", which is insulting to those of us who have taken the time and intellectual effort to filter out the worthwhile (mostly social) libertarian positions from the pro-corporate ninnydom ones.

4. Oh that's more fun than freeperville..here's one of the comments:
I have talked about this with a professor. I told him if we came from monkeys. What we are turning into next? Take a wild guess. Actually, he spinned the question without answering it. We debated semantics, instead.

Apparently it wasn't an English professor.

6. I love fundies. I love how they ascribe everything they don't understand
to divine intervention--

and there is so much that they don't understand!

8. Eh.
Didn't see this episode, but they were making some pro-creationism arguments a few weeks ago. And they weren't being sarcastic.

10. I wouldn't be surprised.
Not only are Parker & Stone right-wingers, people give them far greater intellectual cred than they deserve. Witness their whole Al Gore "Global Warming is made up" bullshit.

11. I don't watch South Park but
I would expect them to poke fun at both sides based on their reputation.
