Will a democratic congress end military privatization? |
|
This is such a huge enemy of prosperity, I hope that the defense committee's seek to end the rapid military privatization that has occurred after then-defense secretary Cheney pushed through the enabling legislation. And then, of course, he sidled over to Halliburton and got them the contracts.
There is a nest of arms dealers and various other merchants of death in the Cheney /Rummy cabal. A dem congress must take this on.

1. I don't follow the reasoning |

The contractors provide lots of well paying jobs. I am not talking about Halliburton and KBR in Iraq. The bases here are contractor run. The contracting out on non-intrinsically government services is a very old program. During the Clinton administration, I was on two significant panels to evaluate contracting out records keeping programs nationwide. It seems to be bipartisan.

is often hijacked into a state of mass corruption. Providing cafeteria service on a stateside base during peacetime is one end of the extreme. The other end might something like subcontracting out armed security in a war zone. :wtf:
