Negroponte's visit to Iraq is about Sadaam's fate |
|
It seems obviuus to me that once he is found guilty that Baathists are going to be livid and likely rioting. This is something that has not been seen before. And it has the potential to create real security problems in the green zone should the Baathists take to the streets.
They have to figure out how to protect al-Malaki should the barriers be over run. Iraqi troops being oredred to fire on unarmed protesters as opposed to armed insurgents is a scary proposition. This thing could go any number of ways. And bloody riots in the streets a day before the US elections as opposed to rejoicing over a guilty verdict is something that the administration has to be worried about.
