After they lay waste to Springfield, they have a conversation about their invasion and subsequent occupation.

"Well, the Earthlings continue to resent our presence," Kang says, as a bomb goes off in the distance. "You said we'd be greeted as liberators!"

"Don't worry," says Kodos, "we still have the people's hearts and minds." He then holds up a heart and brain.

"I don't know," says Kang, "I'm starting to think Operation Enduring Occupation was a bad idea."

"We had to invade," counters Kodos. "They were working on weapons of mass disintegration."

"Sure they were," answers Kang as they gaze upon the ruins of the town.

"This sure is a lot like Iraq will be."
