Speaking of expensive, I just saw a 1 bedroom 1 bath apartment for $1850 today. SF rents just keep going up even though housing prices have stabilized.

Even making $100K you'd be spending half your disposable income for rent. There are some serious disconnects in our economy right now.

33. I was born in San Francisco...
I was raised and live all of my life in Sonoma County, but San Francisco is special to me because my brother and I were born there. I bet that those freepers who rag about San Francisco Liberals really forget the fact that there are Republicans in San Francisco and elsewhere in California. I come from a bipartisan family and we always got a long because we respect each other's viewpoints.

The GOP never respected anyone else's opinions that differ from their own. It's either you're for them or against them. Very sad.

44. Lemme tell you about "San Francisco" values...
When I was working and had no health insurance, I was hit with a major medical and mental health crisis. I was lucky enough to know about SF's community health care system and got myself into it. Because I was making so little at the time I got free health care, free mental health counseling, and free medications.

I was taken care of for two years from head to toe, with some of the best services and staff I have ever had the pleasure of dealing with. They literally saved my life. At first, I was ashamed to have to use city services, but I realized that was why I had paid taxes all those years, for times like those.

When I finally got health insurance it was through Kaiser (bleck), and I was heartbroken to have to leave the health care family I had grown to love.

Free health care, free mental health counseling, and free medications -- yup. those nasty, rank "San Francisco" values -- the whole country should be so lucky!
