On Oct. 19, 2005 the Supreme Iraqi Criminal Tribunal, a special court created for the specific purpose of bring Saddam and members of his regime to justice, held its first meeting on the al-Dujail case. In that case, Saddam and six co-defendants are charged with premeditated murder and other offenses in connection with the deaths of 148 villagers detained after shots were fired at Saddams motorcade in 1982. A second trail, the Anfal case is proceeding simultaneously. In that case, Saddam and his co-defendants are charged in the gassing deaths of 180,000 Kurds in the late 1980's.
The verdict against Saddam in the al-Dujail case is expected on Sunday, Nov 5th. The verdict will be accompanied by a sentence, which could be the death penalty. An appeal of the verdict and the sentence are expected.
The Bush administration is expected to use the verdict against Saddam to justify the war in Iraq. Its late people here it is Rove Oct. win he thinks.

If there is an extreme violence (e.g., declared Civil War) then all the news will be on the reaction not the actual guilty verdict.

Was that supposed to be somehow relevant to my post? If so, I don't see it. Please elaborate.

9. This will only backfire on the BFEE. That country is going to IMPLODE |
|
when the verdict comes down. There will be MASSIVE riots and then maybe we can call it a Civil war? The idiot-in-chief and KKKRove are going to regret setting this one up for their November pre-election surprise.
