2. works very well for me. their "left" lineup really eats hard,
except for Stephanie Miller, to whom I'm listening as I type.

Daaaaallllll Right!

3. Didn't they first start on Sirius?
I held off getting a sat. receiver (and subscription) until I was sure it would go to XM. That's when I bought in, and am happy, since I DON'T watch TV. I feed the XM signal into my computer, and then out to an FM xmtr, so I can listen to it throughout my apt. I have a POGO device that will record it unattended. I also have software to save them as MP3 files. But lately, I'm not bothering to listen to it so much. Instead, DU is providing much of my info input.

Frankly, if they flit ovef to Sirius like a butterfly, I won't follow. And I doubt many others will do so either. That may turn out to be a BAD move by AAR --- perhaps even fatal.

5. yep...I bought Sirius because of that. then, had it installed in my new car.
then....they went to XM

pissed me off

what really pisses me off is moving Sam Seder to a spot where I can't EVER hear him, as they don't rerun him.

they've made some very very bad programming decisions

7. I expect that Sam was moved to mornings...
... due to AAR's limited broadcasting window in many cities, limiting their ability to syndicate shows. e.g. The Chicago station broadcasts as few as 10hours 15min daily, in December.

4. Sirius Might Be For Sale, Too
Clear Channel has interests in them and that company looks to be carved up in the near future. Also CC's new venture with Jones Radio and XNova make AAR's future a tougher sell than before. Today, The Quake in SF made some changes...moving out Franken and cutting back on Randi Rhodes...and adding Malloy and other Jones programs. I suspect this is an attempt to see if there's something salvageable of AAR and Sirius has enough financial doggies and monkeys on their back. Magic 8 ball says this makes nice investor press but doesn't make business sense.

6. The real question is....
When will Sirius start airing Mike Malloy?
Or XM for that matter?

The Nova M stream is great, but it ties me to the computer. One of the satellite companies should be making a deal with Nova M network now, because it's going to grow. And should Air America collapse entirely, some of their on air talent will probably end up at Nova M.

9. "ties me to the computer"

Here's that POGO device I had mentioned earlier: http://www.ccrane.com/radios/am-fm-radios/pogo-radio-yourway-lx/index.aspx

There's plenty of software that'll record all this stuff unattended, and with multiple scheduling options. But this will do the same without a computer, and will hold a LOT of program hours. And it fits into a shirt-pocket. Also included are built-in FM & AM radios, that can also be set to record on any preset schedule.

On edit: It wasn't my intention, but this post just brought me to an even 2900! :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:
