Heavenly Father,

I ask You to remove the wicked from positions of power, wealth and influence. Set Your face against them. Turn them over to shame and destruction. As they have committed wickedness by their laws, punish them.

As their hands have shed innocent blood through their legislation, policies and judicial rulings, give them their just reward. For You are a God Who hates iniquity and the hands that shed innocent blood.

As they have deceived others, let them be deceived, to their own downfall. Let them fall into the traps they have laid, while those who do right escape. Let them be divided against themselves and removed from our land.

But, Lord, bless those who do right, and those who seek Your will. Give them wisdom and grace and blessing and favor with the people. Uphold and strengthen them. Give them counsel and words that their enemies cannot refute or argue against.

Let truth and justice prevail in the making of our laws, and in their enforcement, and in our courts, and in our dealings with other nations.

Bless this nation and deliver us from our own wrongdoings, and deliver us from the will of our enemies. Have mercy on our land and heal us from the evil with which it has become full.

Turn the heart of this nation back to You, so that we might be among the nations which are spared when You soon judge all of the nations of the world.

14. Actually, It Is Quite An Intelligent Prayer. We Could Use Some Praying Ourselves.

Strange thing to me while reading that prayer though, is how different people's perceptions can be. Cause when I read it I felt it to be wonderfully written and in good form for a prayer. But from my perception it appears to be praying for a sweeping Democratic victory on Tuesday. But the prayer sounds quite genuine, so it is fascinating that the author's perception of it is towards praying for a republican victory. I just don't see how they truly believe that we are the enemy, and not the false prophets they support.

But I did find it to be quite a well written prayer. Lord knows I've done my share of heartfelt praying lately as well. What I'd ask in addition to that prayer above, is for the Lord to guide the author and grant them the wisdom to understand that though they truly believe that their intentions are good, they are being misled and those which they consider the enemy are in fact God's children.

Praise the Lord for all that is good.
