It'a all about COR-RUP-TION, right?
Edited on Fri Nov-03-06 11:58 PM by omega minimo

Sex scandals
Religious hypocrisy
Bogus wars (constantly shifting reasons)
Rich get rich, poor get dead
Congressional cronyism
Big Media lies
Stolen elections
Constitutional violations
Signing statements
No checks and balances
Republican cons and convicts
Manipulated pricing and record oil profits

Are Democrats hammering CORRUPTION, the Culture of Corruption, the Party of Corruption? or taking it bit by bit?

3. Not ALL About Corruption By Any Means.
Sure, that's a pretty significant part of it, but overall there are also many other things that it's about as well. You have the issues of constant lies, failed policies, deaths to thousands and thousands of innocent people, job losses, voter disenfranchisement, social security, medicare, minimum wage, trade deficit, disgraceful foreign policy, incompetent emergency response management, parrot headed rubber stamping lack of critical thought republican majorities, bad trade agreements, outsourcing, lack of environmental concerns, lack of scientific advancement, class warfare, record deficits, lack of armed service supplies/armor, shoddy healthcare, attempts to destroy the right to choose, non-aggressive renewable energy policy, loss of habeas corpus, loss of posse comitatus, loss of a gazillion other civil rights, and many many other issues. To say it's ALL about corruption is a fairly narrow view of the reality of our current situation.

5. Not By Any Sane Stretch Of Imagination.
Once again, declaring that everything on that list is covered under the umbrella of corruption is extremely narrow minded in its sentiment in my opinion. Just because you put an equal sign there doesn't make it any more accurate of a statement.

The democrats are talking about corruption, and I'm surprised you even had to ask if they were. But they're also talking about many other things on the list which are tremendously important as well. But what I'm curious of, regardless of it's inaccuracy, is since you truly believe that the list above is all covered under the umbrella of corruption, isn't it equatable then that you were asking if the Dems were talking about any of those things on the list? Would it even be a sincere question for someone on DU to ask if the Dems have been talking about those things on the list? Why would you think for a second that they weren't? What things then have you been thinking they're talking about?

I think these are pretty fair questions based on your answer above.

9. Not Only Didn't You Answer The Questions, But Your Post Also Made No Sense.
I'm not sure what dots you think you're connecting or what dilemma you have convinced yourself that you've solved by doing so. Are you claiming it isn't easy for DU'ers to connect the dots of corruption within this administration? I'd think the overwhelming majority of DU'ers would whole heartedly disagree with you on that condescension.

I also found your original reply to this thread, after no one responded to it, to be quite distasteful, since it also implied in what I consider to be a condescending manner that the reason no one replied was because you were spoiling their fun by connecting dots that they're too intellectually lazy to connect on their own. Problem is, these are common sense dots that any DU'er has connected, and the reason there were no replies is because the OP not only wasn't really connecting much of anything, but also ended with what appeared to be a nonsensical question that didn't really warrant much of a discussion.

You also implied that these elections should only be about the corruption, and I disagreed completely with that notion due to the fact that there are many other things that this election is about as well. Corruption is one component, but there are many other components as well.

And yes, the Dems have been hammering all of them. That's why come Tuesday we're going to win.

Bye now.

6. Yep - and that's why Dems would be STUPID to think another COVER-UP
presidency would be good for this country.

It's time for the Anti-corruption, Open government wing of the DEmocratic party to make themselves heard.

Hey Democrats, Truth Matters

7. And no one wants to turn over that rock
"another cover-up presidency" reminds folks of this one's connection to others (R)............

And to think all Clinton had to cover up was his yarbles.

11. Saw your media thread, that was cool
Which kinda answers the question I have for you............

An "Anti-corruption, Open government wing of the DEmocratic party" would be a good idea. Here's the thing-- how is it possible to contain public outrage (such as it is) over say, oh I dunno, Halliburton in Iraq and NOLA and this week's news about KBR; or the goofy gas prices and another quarterly report of All Time Record Profits for Gas Giants? !!!!!!!!!

Doesn't Joe Sixpack sit around in the bar any more and say :wtf: ? or at the least  ?

This is common sense stuff. The stories (such as they are) ARE in the papers and TV.

How can the response to this be so contained? Is it cuz we're all cocooning or driving around behind blacked out windows?

Here's to opening the window, sticking our heads out and saying :wtf: :toast:

(and Voting)
