I mean just look at what we've learned to put up with as a nation in the last 6 years, its flat out amazing. The list of offenses and scandals and treasonous acts is too long to list here, it would fill a thousand volumes, but all in all we citizens of America are taking it all in apparent stride, so far.

A million shocks have come after the shock of nine eleven, and we've become crazy mixed up zombies who can tolerate any atrocity thrown at us, every tyranny, every piracy, every lie and every death.

I'm reminded of a couple I knew years ago, he would beat her up and put her in the hospital three or four times a year, for many years, and they would both seek council from me, and I played along for a while, but after several years I told them, fuck the whole two of ya, you are both 'madly' in love with each other, leave me out of it.

We seem to be in that kind of a sick relationship now, with our government. We tolerate way too much, we get along too much, we put things off too much. Its a bad sign.

1. If the Neocons were a product
they would have been recalled years ago.

3. Wait until historians start assessing the Bush Era.
It won`t be a pretty picture.

4. Yes, but It all depends on who writes
the history. In the future, if the history is written by non-partisan, independent, free-thinking historians, interested in truth and facts, then yes, the Bush era will be severely damned as one of, if not THE most horrific and dangerous episodes in the Republic's history. An era in which the Constitution and Bill of Rights were under constant attack and in which "checks and balances" disappeared. Let's not even go into Abu Ghraib, rendition, torture, global warming, signing statements, etc. If next week's elections are somehow "diebolded" or otherwise manipulated and we do not regain enough power to fight back within the system envisioned by the Founding Fathers, Bush and the neocons may stay in power for the next 2 years and, using their power and oil money, then be succeeded by a similar group, with similar disdain for Democracy in 2008 --- and so on and so on. If 50 or 100 years from now, THEIR historians write the history --- well --- fill in the blanks. By that time members of the "opposition" will be in internment camps or worse.

5. If this regime were an NFL team,
the coach and general manager would have been fired a long time ago.
