1. I Don't Think So
Not with Karl gone, there won't be anyone to tell him what to veto and what not to veto. Not a chance in hell he would know for himself and Alberto isn't going to be able to help him with this one.

3. The dems have to win the Senate before that is a reality
Bills have to be approved by both houses of congress before they go to the prez for signature. If we have a dem house and a tie or repuke senate, not much is going to get passed.

4. Hard to veto an investigation but yes he will of course.
I suspect if Democrats regain control and that is a really big if, Republicans may just get the notion their ideas may not be in favor any longer and if they don't want to be thrown out on their asses they better think about what the country needs and wants for a change. Think about how the Democrats must have felt after '94. What a huge slap down by the American people.....How would you legislate after something like that? 54 seats were lost and eight in the Senate. We are hoping and praying to win fifteen seats... If we only win fifteen and don't retake the Senate we are going to have a hard time doing much but if we take thirty or so, well I think a lot of weak kneed Republicans will help us override Bush*'s vetos.

5. Who knows how this will end up
We may well be in the majority, but not by much, and a few of the Democratic candidates, from what I've read, are pretty conservative, so some may go along with :freak: 's policys, my bet is absolute gridlock for 2 years, unless we get a very large majority, which isn't expected.

6. The Democrats will likely win the house...
... an possibly the senate, but I do not see the Democratic majority being enough to garner a 2/3 vote if necessary.

We will have to wait and see how this plays out.
