Serious question here..Is it as easy to hack a Diebold ATM as it is a Diebold
voting machine? We have seen experts easily hack the Diebold voting machines numerous times. There was just a study by Princeton University on the security of these machines and it was demonstrated on TV by a Princeton Professor how easy it actually was. So why aren't ATMs made by the same company just as easy to hack, or are they?

And for a 20 point bonus, why?

4. Because the Repugs are more worried about their money than
they are about our votes.

12. Exactly.
Now there are ATM screwups, but they are at such a low rate that they do not materially affect the banking business or customer confidence. The technology is essentially identical to voting machine DRE equipment. ATMs have had auditable paper trails for something like 30 years. ATMs work. ATMs process billions of transactions each year.

The only reason why DRE machines are so unreliable, so prone to malfunction, is that they are deliberately designed to be this way.

2. They aren't. It's just their voting machines that are completely unreliable.
The public wouldn't stand for having their money stolen, but is a little slower to react when their votes are...

5. What about a protest against Diebold?
Refuse to do business with any bank that is using Diebold machines. Close your accounts and shun their services. We could bring them to their knees.

6. If there wasn't a concern with anonymity
voting machines would be as secure as ATMs. All the problems are due to the anonymity constraint.

13. Substitute a Voter # for the name. Problem solved.
I believe every US citizen should be issued a Voter # at birth and after voting that person can view his/her vote on a public tally database by said number.

7. No, their ATMs are quite difficult to hack
I remember hearing about a sophisticated scam using fake magnetic cards some time ago, but most people trying to rip off ATMs seem to resort to large trucks, heavy chains, and welding torches.

8. I think you have hit on how we should resort to the voting machines
large trucks, heavy chains, and welding torches.

10. Don't forget.....There's a PAPER TRAIL on ATM's!!!
Something you don't want on a voting machine if you're going to change the votes!!!!

11. Think about it
I can use my bank card to access an ATM, make purchases over the phone or internet, scan it at the car wash, and pick up a six pack on the way home.
NOT ONE PENNY IS MISCOUNTED. I HAVE A RECORD OF MY PURCHASES. THE BANK KEEPS A RECORD THAT IS NEVER WRONG (so far).
The same people who make this possible want to tell me and the rest of the country that "glitches happen", "mistakes occur", and the worse excuse of all "people have problems with the machines".
It is time for ALL AMERICANS to wake up!
