Army Times to call on Rummy to Go!
Edited on Sat Nov-04-06 10:47 AM by Perky
(T)he Military Times Media Group, a Gannett Co. subsidiary that publishes Army Times and other military-oriented periodicals, said Friday it was calling for Bush to fire Rumsfeld. An editorial due to be published Monday says active-duty military leaders are beginning to voice misgivings about the war's planning and execution and dimming prospects for success. It declares that "Rumsfeld has lost credibility with the uniformed leadership, with the troops, with Congress and with the public at large."

The editorial concludes by saying that regardless of which party wins in next week's election, the time has come "to face the hard bruising truth: Donald Rumsfeld must go."

4. Doubt it.
A fair share of the career force is in full agreement else there would have been no editorial. Now Rummy can huff and puff, but even if he or Smirky orders a bann, there'll be bootleg copies popping up all over the place. Plus, most of the troops get their copies direct mail or now on line.

Something else: The career force like the Times. It's their hometown rag; it speak to them and for them. If Smirk and Co tries messing with them, it could get even uglier. It's too late to shoot the messenger.
