Kerry Gaffe had NO effect on Polls!!!!
Edited on Sat Nov-04-06 01:43 PM by Cheney Killed Bambi
The Newsweek poll taken after the controversy shows that Democrats have GAINED ground in generic polls

Wall to wall coverage of the non-story that was John Kerry's botched Iraq joke has done nothing to help the GOP or damage Dems, according to a new poll just out this morning from Newsweek. The poll finds that Dems lead the GOP in the generic Congressional matchup by 16 points, 54%-38%, a spread that's consistent with or larger than most recent polls. It also finds that a majority -- 53% -- want Dems to win control of either one or both Houses. President Bush's approval rating is stuck at 35%, and independents support Dems nearly 2-1, 51%-26%.

2. That isn't surprising really
It was, is, and will stay a nonstory. Kerry isn't running for any elected office this year, so what difference does it make what he says, at least in relation to the election? None whatsoever.

3. I think it reinforced for many how much they HATE Bush's spin machine
that he uses so shamelessly to promote his LIES.

The commentaries Bush's actions against Kerry spawned have been BLISTERING against Bush.

14. Oh whatever
This poll showed other wise. Obviously you missed the democrats are now sixteen points a head of the GOP. Oopsie. So much for that. It was not dumb of Kerry to be critical of Bush. I was surprised he messed up in a speech because he hasn't before but hey there is a first time for everything. Anybody with half a tinkers brain knows what he was talking about. Kerry did apologize after it happened for the bad joke and held a press conference on it and apologized if it hurt anyone feelings.

19. Kerry did say he messed up a JOKELINE - my GOD, a DROPPED PRONOUN -
let's LIE and say he was insulting the troops.

Get real - have you ever apologized for dropping a PRONOUN?

posted on the internets by the repukes, the head honcho of the evangelicals (the psycho-in-chief's BASE) buying meth and hiring male prostitutes, the psycho-in-chief saying Rumsfeld and Cheney are "just maaaahvelous darling, just maaahvelous", a repuke congressman paying $500,000 worth of hush money to his mistress, Felix Allen's staffers throwing a man into a plate glass window, and Cheney telling the people who give him a paycheck, to "Go fuck themselves."

I would think the Dem numbers would be higher.:)

Great news though!:bounce:

11. If there is not a major change in Congress
I'm not saying taking back both houses, but a significant number of Republicans losing given ALL of the polling data, then something is crooked with the elections. I think Kerry could fuck a gerbil on a live television feed and there would still be a significant number of Republicans kicked out.

and as a side note, it is "bonum" in your sig line, not "bonam." Provides us with the English word "bonus."

20. Every Dem strategist should be forced to watch Keith Olbermann.
I am quite certain Kerry was being crapped on because he FOUGHT BACK in the same way that people like us would fight back against the lie machine.

13. Good!
Last night on Bill Maher some reporter or whatever was on saying John Kerry was threw and his chances at 2008 were over. Now this proves she's wrong and it looks like it might have even helped since the democrats are now up points.

And he should NOT have apologized. And all the Dems who chickenshitted out like USUAL should get their asses handed to them in the next primary.

21. It's Really Been Difficult for Me to See it as a Gaffe at All
If you don't study, you might end up with the military as your best option? And you won't get the plum technical assignments, which means you'll be on the front lines in Iraq? How is that even slightly controversial?

I mean, the Iraq troops were probably way ahead of the rest of the country in seeing this. I can't believe the troops themselves even took offense at it.

Kerry knows this from experience. It was shameless grandstanding by the Republicans.
