I lurk in republic hate so you don't have to.

2 hours ago:

"Ken Mehlman got together with some bloggers this afternoon and he definitely had a message that he wanted to get across. Here are the three points he hammered home before he went off the record:

#1) For whatever reason, exit polls have over the years tended to favor Democrats over Republicans. It may be because the sample is too female, because they use big precincts for exit polls and we do better in small precincts, or because of something else. Just be aware that the exit polls will be wrong.

#2) Some of our toughest states will come in early. Keep that in mind and try not to declare the House lost too early because of that because it could depress turnout in the states that come in later.

#3) The polls are way oversampling democrats. Some of these polls are going +5 to +12 Democratic over the last cycle. But, in the last 25 years, the electorate has NEVER been that Democratic. So, in other words, a lot of the polls are wrong because they're oversampling the number of Democratic voters."

Fuck them and their crimes. We are going to outpoll them in such numbers that their crimes are going to not matter.

7. the issue is whether Dems win by such an overwhelming majority
that GOP can't claim exit polls are wrong without inciting a revolution. The problem is, that trick actually worked last time in part because Kerry let it.

4. WTF?
"try not to declare the House lost too early because of that because it could depress turnout in the states that come in later."

Does that mean he accepts the lose of the House?

8. "Just be aware that the exit polls will be wrong."
Very telling, yes?

Then why bother with exit polls, Ken? Are you big bad republics just trying to placate the unwashed masses?

#2 How many seats are up for grabs in AK and HI?

10. Tap Dancing On The Titanic
Hey folks...the band will be playing all night on the Promenade deck. Don't worry about a little water seeping in, just deep dancing.

This is major damage control to prevent the reporting of GOOP loses in the East from spreading across the country and to keep the "faithful" from staying home.

This all but proves that the GOOP is expecting a very looooooooong day on Tuesday and are doing everything at this late hour just to keep their own people from staying home.

More reason to get out and GOTV...I've sure had enough.

11. Laying the Foundation For Why Repubs Won The Elections....
... Obviously he is lying through his teeth. Everyone in the world cannot be wrong except him. We all vote. We know the sentiment of the voters this season.

So why tell Repub supporters this?
When the results are totally out of line with the polls and exit polls they can claim it was all the media and pollsters' fault.

I stand by my characterization of the Repub Leadership --they will do anything, legal or illegal, to stay in power.
