There are no political signs in the yards where there have been Republican signs in the past.
Its Illinois. But a very red area of Illinois.
Whats up?

1. Observations from a red area of Raleigh - fewer "W" signs on cars. |
|
more Kerry/Edwards and antibush bumperstickers....by the way, did early voting today. No obvious riff raff going on. Had an interesting interaction - was standing in line with my Dem voter guide (there were some confusing judicial races, and it helped to have the cheat sheet) - a Dem volunteer came up and offered me one, I showed her mind and we shared a smile and a thumbs up. Then, a Rep volunteer came up and asked me if I have all of the reading material I need to make an informed choice. You can guess how I responded to that! She wasn't getting much business in the line of 20-30 people.
I filled out a ballot where I used a ball point pen to fill the circle next to the candidate, then the sheet went into the machine to register my votes.
As far as I could tell, there was no voter intimidation or obstruction going on.

Was just telling someone today, never saw hardly any signs in 2004 and we're in a repub area. I've seen very few repub signs and yards are full of dem signs. I really don't get it. Had some folks tell me today tho, that they didn't feel the dems had anything to offer, so they were still going to vote repub. I asked just what track record the repubs offered him? He had no answer. I worry that the gay marriage ban will win here. Nearly every church yard around here has the vote yes sign up..............stupid, ignorant people.

5. You should see all the Laesch Signs in Oswego - and we're missing Hastert signs |
|
There were a ton of hastert signs all around this summer, and up into early fall. When the foley thing broke, I started noticing signs disappearing. Not just the little yard signs, but these massive corner 3x5 & 4x6 signs that parade through our county countryside and intersections.
In it's place, more and more Laesch signs. I've even seen some big ones, so it's look like John might have received a boost in his marketing funds. I also had a few neighbors comment on my yard signs (with approving nods), on Halloween.
I wish something would happen Monday to stop that waste of flesh from winning (Hastert), but we'll wait and see what comes Tuesday.
