John Aravosis over at Americablog.com has linked to Nebraska Democratic Congressional candidate Scott Kleeb's final campaign ad - and, in my mind it is such a fine, fresh example of the breeze we, as Democrats, need to promote and embrace. I know that people believe negative campaign ads are sure-bets, but people also reach a point where we are SICK and TIRED of the mudslinging - and this year in particular, we need to show voters that we understand what a new direction is all about.
This candidate certainly isn't my favorite - his positions on some issues aren't very aligned with my own - but if you watch this carefully, you get the feeling this young man would at least let you have the chance to discuss your views - and that he is interested in weighing them.
The President is headed to Nebraska to try to prop up his Republican opponent - if any of you have any opportunity to shout out for Kleeb, please do so.
Oh. . .by the way - here is the link to his final broadcast campaign ad. You can certainly look at many others if you like. And if you get the chance, thank AmericaBlog and many of the other online groups which helped raise money for candidates who reflect real American values.
