Haggard gave sex/meth interview in front of his kids
http://americablog.blogspot.com/2006/11/haggard-gave-sexdrug-interview-in.html

The guy is a creep. Dan Savage was the one to discover this. The interview Haggard gave yesterday, the one with his poor wife watching where he talking about buying crystal meth and only getting a massage from the gay hooker, his poor kids were sitting in the back seat the entire time. And before anyone criticizes the reporter, the journalist asked Haggard if he wanted to step out of the car for a second to do the interview and he said no. He chose to do it in front of his kids.

1. Much as I cant' stand the man, I think he made a good choice -
the kids are gonna hear it all anyway: might as well hear it from their dad's own lips then to hear it recycled and iterpreted through news people then interpreted through the kids at school, to where they're hearing shit second- and third- and fourth-hand.

I'd rather my kids heard it from me, if I knew - as in this case - that there is no way in hell that they won't ever hear about it.

3. Well....maybe, but I'd still think seeing their father attacked can't be good.

5. Well yes, they should hear it from his lips
but in private. That's how a classy person would handle it. Oh wait...

Note: The Denver Post FRONT Page has a huge picture of him in his car which shows the kids. VERY shocking. People are not happy about this.

4. Maybe that's why he only admitted to that
My guess is that he is lying his ass off.

9. How old are the kids?
Is it probably best to hear it from their parents directly, but in private.

10. He closes his eyes when lying.

He closes his eyes when he lies, a very common sign of lying. Not just a blink. He closes deliberately closes them for just the words forming the lie, but not for any other factual statements he makes. Watch the interview:

"Have you used meth?"

(closes eyes) "No I have not."

"And what did you call him about?"

(closes eyes) "I called him to buy some meth..." (opens eyes, then closes them again) "…but I threw it away."

"Have you ever used meth before?"

(closes eyes) "No I have not."

"And did you ever have sex with him?"

(closes eyes) "No I did not."

"At what point did you decide to throw away the meth?"

"Right after. I never kept it very long because it’s wrong. I was tempted, I bought it… (closes eyes) but I never used it."

"And how did you know he would sell it to you?"

"He told me about it. (closes eyes) I went there for a massage."

12. He figures it buys media credibility to lie with his family present
And for the sake of "consistency", he can also repeat all the lies he's already fed to his wife and kids.
