Mitchell is in a dead-heat race with GOP Congressman J.D. Hayworth in Congressional District 5, polls indicate. Pederson has been closing the gap on two-term Republican Sen. Jon Kyl, according to recent polls.
A Mitchell campaign official confirmed Fox is coming but said details of the event were not yet available.
Fox, who suffers from Parkinson's disease, has stepped into the spotlight recently in political ads and campaign speeches against Republican lawmakers who voted against a bill this summer that would have allowed federally funded research on embryonic stem cells created for fertility treatments that would otherwise be thrown away.
