Amazing- the Kerry gaffe got more media attention than the Nuke Secrets Web Site
Edited on Sat Nov-04-06 08:33 PM by deacon
The media hysteria over Kerry's joke was ridiculous. Yet this incredible breakdown in national security received 24 hours of coverage. It's mind boggling and even more vital now that we do have a dem congress to do a HUGE investigation into this outrageous dereliction of duty.

2. And a blowjob got a year and a half and still gets brought up constantly
but yet no one mentions George Senior's multi-billion bailout of his son after he intentionally fucked up the saving and loans and made a fortune.

It's a good thing the media are rabid liberals, otherwise we'd really be fucked. Imagine how little coverage we'd get for dems if the media were conservative. :eyes:

4. It's called swiftboating
And it will happen to whoever the Dem candidate is. It works especially well when Democrats help and/or criticize the Dem instead of the right.

Kerry responded in 2004, just like he responded just hours after Tony Snow's 'outrage'. It didn't matter. The media did the same thing then as they did last week.

6. It's called impeachmenting. It started with the impeachment of a Dem president
for NOTHING. They couldn't have done it without the media complicity. Then they impeachmented Gore. Then they impeachmented the Dixie Chicks. Then they impeachmented Dan Rather. Then they impeachmented Kerry.

They spent themselves by the time Schiavo and Katrina came around. No one is believing them anymore.

7. It's true- it's why dems are called 'spineless' when they keep quiet
it's like the media always waits on a dem screwup to pounce on. It's intimidation.

13. Dems don't even have to screw up - BushInc CREATES a lie the media will run with
no matter what.

Think Clintons trashed the White House - all their power and the Clintons couldn't fight that lie that went on for months. Think of Gore said he invented the internt.

The liars will lie and the media will prop up the lie against ANY Dem. Fight it, and they even spin the fight against you.

16. And then after the media runs with it, some other Dems will join in.
And perpetuate the RW spin. Sigh.

5. I think the public, for once, saw through the haze
by a miracle of stupiphany, the public sensed the artificial outrage, and discounted it.

Even though my senator botched his punch line, and the apology, somehow the public saw it as a personal screw up, and not a reflection on the Democratic party or its principles.

John, I love you, man, but don't you ever try to crack a joke again. It's not your style.

8. And the difference is light years apart- one is about a joke- the other nuclear bomb building
It's where the media's heads are at and it's scary. It's another peer into their mindset.

9. *sigh*
But you see - it did work. Because enough Democrats DID react which is supposed to keep us on the defensive. People flub up lines all the time and it's never a week long news story. As long as they can get Democrats to continue to be defensive about Kerry instead of offensive that this happened in the first place, they still win.

12. Fear not. Despite out best efforts
to shoot ourselves in the foot, the public has become inured to these stunts by the rabid reactionary retrograde right wing republican media.

They are shooting blanks.

Worse, they are shooting blanks into a plugged chamber and it it backfiring.

They have played the "blame the Democrats" card so often, that the card is marked; grease stained from overuse, and the public can see it coming before the card is flipped face up.

That's what saved us this time.

And it is a beautiful sight to behold because the 'pugs have nothing left, and the clock has run out.

See you on Tuesday at the polls; I'm voting straight Democratic ticket.

11. It's really pathetic all they have is a lie over the intent of a joke.
But yet this goes to show you what they really have to work with. They know exactly what the joke was.

A botched joke that is yet another lie from these guys. What does America believe? The credibility of the guy in the WH? Or a vet who has worked all his adult life for vets? No brainier there.

What's with Clinton? She was quick to remark that it was wrong of Kerry to say that. I was like, huh? What? Is that all? She couldn't add the intention? Everyone messes up on jokes at one time or another. Just to let her quick response go like that... I don't know, I wish I did, but I have this feeling something more is going on between Bush and congress that seems to put congress in a frozen state to simply defend your own party. It was a joke of Bush's smarts that I've heard since the 2000 elections.

I don't know, but all I have been seeing the last couple of days or what is in my mind lately are the moves Bush has been making toward what looks like a means to control the U.S. population. We lose this one, it won't be for at least ten years before a next chance of a change - if we make it that long.
