Here's Your "Iraqi Freedom" - Today Iraqi Citizens Are Imprisoned In Their Own Homes
Edited on Sat Nov-04-06 10:17 PM by Stephanie
Now we see the bitter irony of "Operation Iraqi Freedom" as ordinary Iraqi citizens are forbidden to leave their homes in anticipation of the Saddam verdict. The curfew begins at 6:00 a.m. and prohibits all vehicle and foot traffic. Foot traffic. The Iraqi's are effectively under house arrest. I hope we see extensive coverage of the empty streets of Baghdad tomorrow, so folks can see exactly what sort of "Freedom" George Bush has brought to Iraq.

BAGHDAD, Iraq (CNN) -- Iraq is bracing for judges to give their verdict -- and a possible death sentence -- to Saddam Hussein at the end of his war crimes trial on Sunday.

Stiff curfews will be imposed on Baghdad and two provinces from 6 a.m. as officials try to prevent any violent reaction to the trial.

All people and vehicles will be banned from the streets of the capital and Salaheddin and Diyala provinces, and Baghdad International Airport will also be shut down until further notice, the Iraqi prime minister's office told CNN. (Watch as Baghdad residents stock up, get ready -- 3:20)

Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki said he wanted the trial to deliver justice to the former president.

1. Friends, this is why the Saddam verdict timing hurts the GOP
Today we'll see the great success of George Bush' Iraq adventure, where entire provinces are now placed under house arrest until further notice. Way to go, George.

2. .....whichever way it goes
I don't know the ins and outs of Iraqi law or even how their courts are set up, but I have to acknowledge the very real possibility he could be found not guilty.

This could blow up in the little emperor's face BIG TIME.

He's guilty: riots. He's not guilty: riots and complete failure by the neocons.

3. I think Rove thinks tomorrow is his October Surprise
And I think it's going to backfire on him bigtime.
