ETA if lightening up means mocking the appearance of kids, especially when they're being thrust in the public limelight because of their father's misdeeds, then I'd rather stay tightly wound up. But, I don't think recognizing that as bad form means one has to lighten up.

I just saw the Jesus Camp film today and was sickened by what these people do to their children. I'm sure the Haggard kids DO hold the same skewed beliefs as their parents, but admittedly it is due to their indoctrination.

My vehement reaction to the documentary, the people portrayed in it and the message they are peddling are still very fresh and definitely obscuring my view. It has undoubtedly been poured down his kids' throats, but they are not to blame.

After calming down, I agree...it's a cheap shot to assail the kids. I stand corected. Thanks for slapping me upside the head when I needed it.

I just can't imagine a sane person behaving the way he did. Have you seen any of the interviews with him? Two were posted here in the last couple of days that just made him look like a total nut that happened to click perfectly into the evangelical movement. There's one where he's arguing with a British interviewer about science, and then of course- the one from yesterday- with his "I've never seen him. But he gave me a massage. And sold me drugs. But I don't do drugs" thing.
