Art Bell. Don't even get me started about his talking to,(via the web), meeting AND marrying a VERY young Pilipina within a month and half of his wife, (whom he professed to love so very much), dying suddenly. She died in January and that "man" was remarried by March/April. He constantly brags about her physical appearance and how hot she is. He's disgusting to the nth degree. I'm not surprised by his idiotic mumblings, at all.

the new wife is pregnant... I have no problem with a child being born or with the pilipina wife but my God, the first wife wasn't even cold before he hosted one of his weekend shows and starting gushing and waxing poetic about the fact that he'd met and married this woman within a space of a few weeks....IN A DOUBLE CEREMONY with her sister, IIRC...

Edited on Sun Nov-05-06 05:54 AM by OmmmSweetOmmm
So close on the heals of Romona's death, I even thought foul play. Romona reportedly died of an asthma attack while he was sleeping. He kept saying how she was the love of his life, etc. Then 4 months later
he remarried.

Meanwhile, this 61 year old man's young wife (isn't she 20) is now pregnant, and he brags how it happened on their recent trip to Hong Kong. And according to Art..... she looks totally sexy in those chinese dresses and after seeing her pic (which he posts every weekend at the site), you can understand how she became pregnant....

On edit..I forgot to mention that it took George Noory quite sometime to mention Art's remarriage. It was only when Art was on the air with him a week or so later.

21. I totally agree. It's really repulsive that he makes those
comments about her looks and the rather slimey sexual innuendoes... I could have lived all of my life and NEVER heard the geezer express in the most stomach turning comments about his wife, even going so far to invite further comments from other creepy types on the call in parts off his show. In regards to George mentioning the marriage, I noticed his silence on the subject too and to be perfectly honest, I've never heard him comment on the marriage or the coming blessed event.

Her name is Airyn, pronounced Irene, and he calls her Aran. I notice this sounds petty but marrying her to me, was the most selfish thing this man could have done. If he really loved her that much, he should have given her lots and lots of time, to make this Permanent decision. Not a month.

Art Bell - one of those relics from the 1990s who became obsolete overnight after 9/11 and the Bush Crime Family's rise to power. Same goes for Drudge, Perot, Harder, and many others. Once influential, now irrelevant. He knows he's an anachronism and that's why he stepped down from Coast to Coast sometime around the time My Pet Shrubmonkey got (s)elected and fled the Kingdom of Nye for the Phillipines. Back injury my ass.

When push comes to shove it's always interesting to see which side the chips fall. Um, let's see - all the supposed independents and reformers who wound up flocking to the Shrub's camp after 9/11 - Art Bell, Drudge, Ross Perot, Eric-who-claims-to-be-an-anarchist-yeah-right-Raymond - are irrelevant today. The ones who came down on OUR side when times got tough, like Arianna Huffington, are more relevant than ever. That says a lot.

Art Bell, you seriously jumped the shark years ago - who cares what you think now?

of a very popular nighttime national radio program called Coast-to-Coast AM, which deals primarily with conspiracy theories, the supernatural, UFOs, etc.

He is known to be a rather "eccentric" man. Aw, hell, what am I saying? He's crazier than a shithouse rat.

Last weekend he pissed me off when he said "we need to finish the job in Iraq". This from a man who lives in a condo in Manila with his mail-order bride of 40 years younger. Hey, Art, what the fuck do you mean "we", kemosabe?

48. NOORY is just as bad a wingnut - regularly features Jerry CORSI
CORSI, the co-author of "Unfit for Command," and a recent jobber with Minuteman GILCRIST. In the KERRY flap this week, NOORY repeated the wingnut talking points about "trashing the troops," then skated over to saying that "We are all Americans - need to get past the division." Well, one step would be to stop the wingnut talking points.

CORSI has his own fan club right here at DU, the ones who post his columns about the grand conspiracy to make Canada-Mexico-U.S. into one country.

50. Noury puzzles me
On one hand he'll do as you say above and then another night, you'll hear him pontificating about how we are no longer a democracy and how people need to wake up. He also does some good environmental shows.

I really know nothing about Bell, having only listened to their shows since September.

One night Noory made a comment about Keith Olbermann's ratings. I think this was when Keith did one of his take no prisoners commentaries. Anyway, it got so much attention that when a caller enthusiastically brought it up, Noory pooh-poohed it, questioning Keith's ratings. So of course I had to send him an e-mail about KO's ratings going through the roof. I sent it Tuesday or so and surprise surprise, haven't heard a word back.

At least he knows we liberals are listening, taking notes, and keeping them honest.

52. Oh, NOORY *answered* one of MY e-mails, alright
Of couse, mine was blunt in pointing out his CORSI wingnuttiness, and he responded angrily in kind. I fergit what we both said.

He lacks BELL's talent as a broadcaster in evoking moods just with the voice and BELL's own kind of intelligence. Besides the surprising events of BELL's multiple retirements and comebacks, spousal deaths and remarriages, it was also shocking how the boys ditched the woman who appeared to be climbing into the void, Barbara (SIMPSON?) who was doing the weekends while BELL was supposedly gone forever. Then, surPRIZE surPRIZE surPRIZE, Bell was back and the broad (wingnut that she was) was out with yesterday's trash. And NOORY was so abjectly pitiful in being so grateful for the long term contract. Now he's saying he will stay until he's wheeled out on a guerney. Trouble is, regardless of BELL's quirks he maintained a certain level of INTEREST most nights. This NOORY guy, as I drift in and out of sleep, is just plain BORING.

However, I heard him a few months ago talking to a guest about how Bush has made a mess of things. He didn't really get nasty, but he clearly was not happy with Bush. Maybe he is trying to encourage listeners to vote republican. Art is very Pro-envirionment and he didn't use to talk politics on his show. I admit, I haven't listened to him for a while because I thought he retired. How is it he retired because his back pain was just unbearable and NOW he doesn't even mentione his back? I have a love/hate thing with Art. I use to work 3rd shift & ARt and his show kept me going. I LOVED his show no matter how dumb the topic was, Art has a talent with his guests. I had heard a rumor Art was going to go to Satellite radio.

I'd also like to point out,I had heard a rumor that he had done something inappropiate with his then underage son and was off the air for a while over 'personal business'. Your saying he has NOW moved to the phillipines? Aren;t their laws with underage sex rather laxe or am I confusing this with another country? LIke I said, its a rumor I heard more than once. Take it with a grain of salt

58. I listen to both

I actually think Noory breathes more life into the show now. Bell seems bored anymore. Anyway, Noory said on one show that he isn't sure that humans caused global warming - that's just as wingnut as anything Bell has said. Noory tends to vary based on the guest he has, though. I believe when all is said and done, both are Libertarians.

Bell believes that "gotta finish what you started in Iraq" bunk too much.

Coast to Coast is a guilty pleasure of mine, though.

63. it kills me when he has him on.
Though I do very much believe were trying to form a nasty, coservo union with Canada and Mexico, one country however, seems a bit much to me.

54. I couldn't care less who he married, when and why, or where he lives.
That is his business. I don't sit out here and ignorantly judge people morally from afar.

But if he supports the evil braindead moron, then he is one too.

57. Art was great in the 90's, but I agree, he got "Dennis Miller Stupid" after 9/11.
George Noory I can't fucking stand. I stopped listening to the show when he took over.

67. What's the latest with Bell's son?
He "retired" one time because his son had been kidnapped and molested by a perpetrator with HIV. Whatever became of THAT?

This is a transcript of this incident reported by Bell. This is just so sad and so very, very curious. http://www.rense.com/general/artretires.htm

75. Is this jackass still on the air?
You mean to tell me that radio stations are dumping Doctor Demento, the guy who plays the funniest music on earth, but they're still running Art Bell? When? The 2 AM - 4 AM slot?

I was told that one of his big advertisers, or something he promoted, was Human Growth Hormone. (Supposedly Christopher Lee took it when he was making the Star Wars prequels, so he could do his own stunts.) Isn't that stuff illegal without a prescription and dangerous to take even with it?
