I can see Sunday's gonna be a long day... |
|
CNN is just repeating the same stuff over and over and over an over. 30 days to file an appeal....country used to summary justice...demonstrations in the streets...reactions from all the 'player pianos' in the Administrations...blah blah blah.
It reminds me of the first sentence after a Space Shuttle is launched...you know the one: "The launch of the Space Shuttle Enterprise to go where no man has gone before..."
Here's the good news...fewer interviews with Santorum and DeWine...

1. This can be turned around by asking, what does S.H. have to do with US terror attacks? |

3. Well, this is why the Rethugs are losing.... |
|
What I can't figure out, what I will NEVER be able to figure out, is why we just didn't plant some weapons over there with a small, secret team. It would have changed EVERYTHING. Any claims that this happened would have been routinely dismissed like the shooter on the Grassy Knoll was at the time (shame most of you didn't live thru that nightmare that afternoon....plenty of reporters saying that they saw a shooter there on live radio and on their portable tape recorders).

6. Hannity still says "we'll find them." |
|
Also I noticed Fox is showing cheering and dancing crowds of jubilant Iraquis like it's the VJ Day. You know they had this footage ready to go; it's probably from 2003. Fox News - The Bush Shillers LLC.

2. Yep.. saddam just took all the oxygen in the room |
|
and since he's been in custody for so long, people have forgotten about him..and most people know by now that he was just a silly little puppet who had long ago used up his usefulness..
His removal was the true "comma" in the whole affair..
Did anyone EVER think that he would NOT get the death penalty?
The whole dog and pony show of a trial was ridiculous too. he should have been sent to the hague, and locked away for life. THAT would have been a better consequence..
but then...
he might have spilled the beans to them 'Yurpeans an *² could not allow that to happen, now could he??

from a split with 4 other guys...I hate trolling in the Parking Lot but you're point is well-taken.
I've been following them so long that I rmember when they still had 13 games a year in Syracuse which was part of the deal when the Nationals moved here to Philly.
Maybe Bob Casey would like to join me at the game...he's all set here.

Unfortunately I missed AI who was out with a sprained ankle.
This verdict coming out now troubles me a bit but you have to play the cards you are dealt.

10. The inertia against the current Administration |
|
is just too great. The poster yesterday who said that the campaign is over is exactly right. Short of another 9/11, there's nothng that can sway significant percentages of Americans now. The die is cast...one way or the other. Now it's a GOTV race, the second campaign - only lasts one day.
We'll see...

That's from the Bill Russell Celtics era which was a bit before my time...
00 was disappointing because it looked like Gore would pull it out at the end...
04 was disappointing because the mid day (raw and unadjusted) exit polls suggested a Kerry win...I had resigned myself to a Bu$h win before seeing them. Nothing is worse than having defeat ripped from the jaws of victory.
92 and 96 were better... Less suspense...
The generic polls look good but a WP/ABC poll showed the generic poll lead down to six just today. But that's contradicted by a TIME and Newsweek poll so hopefully it's an outlier...

13. Most people WILL be watching football. |
|
Edited on Sun Nov-05-06 07:21 AM by Clark2008
Some will be shopping, raking leaves and going to church.
I don't think the Sunday after Halloween and well before Thanksgiving is all that popular a TV (news) viewing day, thankfully.
Clarified to point out TV NEWS day. Many people WILL be watching football.

If you haven't decided yet, you probably don't really care and they won't be tuning in Meet The Press or its equivalent, b/c you never do. The ads now are sufferring from over-exposure. Time's up. Put down your pencils and close your blue books...

16. Take a deep breath now and relax |
|
The work is over and now we just wait for the score. But you know that the media are going to create as much drama as possible until the drama of whether we will have change, or no, will take over. Creating drama is there business. And blessed are those that like football because for so many hours you can get completely away from that constant jerking of our chains. .
